The bill will allow public housing authorities, utility, and telecommunications companies to furnish payment information for things like utility bills and phone payments to credit reporting agencies to help consumers enhance their credit scores. Currently, it’s estimated that 26 million Americans are “credit invisible,” meaning they do not have a credit history with any of the three national credit reporting agencies.
