Indiana is preparing residents for the upcoming Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (“CDPA”), which takes effect January 1, 2026, by releasing the Consumer Data Protection Bill of Rights (“CDPBR”). On November 25, 2025, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita announced the CDPBR, which summarizes 15 key rights that Indiana citizens will enjoy under the CDPA.
As required by amendments to the FDCPA made by Section 1089 of Dodd Frank, the CFPB recently released its annual report to Congress on FDCPA compliance. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today reported the key issues facing the federal banking system in the Semiannual Risk Perspective for Fall 2025.
On December 10, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) released preliminary findings from its supervisory review of “debanking” activities at the nine largest national banks. The objective of the review was to determine whether the banks debanked or discriminated against any customers or potential customers on the basis of their political or religious beliefs or lawful business activities. The review, which was required to be completed by the OCC and other federal banking agencies by December 5 pursuant to Executive Order 14331 (Guaranteeing Fair Banking for All Americans), covers the period 2020–2025.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently announced the 2026 loan limits for FHA insured forward mortgage loans and FHA insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs). The announcements were made in Mortgagee Letter 2025-23 and Mortgagee Letter 2025-22, respectively.
